Posting days have been suspended in favor of this new system. You are now free to post on any day of the week provided you follow these simple guidelines:

1. If a Feature is scheduled on the day you wish to post, please either:

A) allow at least four hours after the feature post goes up before adding your post, or

B) set the time of your post before the featured post so it posts beneath it and the featured post stays at the top of the blog.

2. For non-feature posts, please allow at least two hours after the last post so all posts have a turn at the top of the blog.

3. If posts are grouped too closely together, the Officer on Deck may either reset the time of your post or set it to 'save' so you can republish it at a later time.

These rules sound fine to me. We shall see how the everybody can post works out. I hope it is better.

This sounds a lot easier, but I freely confess to continued confusion (yeah, okay, it's my natural state of being). How do I determine if what I'm posting will count as a Feature? Would I only be doing a Feature if it's assigned to me, and, therefore, any other post would be something other than a Feature? Or is it more complex than that?

Hi Gini.  Good guestions.  Features are the "big event" type posting like book launch parties,  interviews, major announcements, that sort of thing,  etc.  Also we haven't had one yet, but a book review would count, or an indepth article about a publisher or agent.    

Hopefully, when others post features they'll include "Feature" as one of the tags at the bottom.

I've started listed upcoming features that I know about on the calendar, such as Katherine Allred's book launch party for Close Contact on June 8th and we'll have an interview with a major SF author later this week (date not yet set).

I not only have a book review, but it's up for Lasr's Book of the week contest.  Is it possbile for me to blog about the book review as a  feature?  It's the first book in my Darkenss of Dragons Trilogy from Devine destinites. Aldo how to I post my picture to the Jane Toomvs blank spot to the left here?  I did create an album with 4 photos in it. Jane

Yes, I'd love to see your post.  Choose a date and we'll get you on the calendar as a feature.  You can check under the calendar (tab is at the top of the site) to see if anything else is scheduled that day.

As for your pic, I think you need to add it through your profile, so sign in and go to the "edit profile" link that should be in the upper right hand side of the page.
